Week 1: Here We Go

After enough procrastination, I've set up my blog to my liking. This is the first time I've ever maintained a blog so it's certainly a learning experiment. The likelihood of me ever setting up a blog were slim, so I'm glad that taking EME6414 is making me go a bit out of my comfort zone.

I'll use this blog to share my experiences and feelings about this semester, how I'm getting through, and what excites me about the work we'll be doing. Using facebook, instagram, and reddit in the past has prepared me in a way to share my experiences in blog form. I'm used to sharing quick status updates or pictures on social media, but long-form blogging will be an extension of that and fun to try.

I look forward to updating this blog with whatever I've got going on, and am excited for everyone to read. I also can't wait to read everyone else's blog this summer.

Until next time, see ya!

  1. Hello Alex,

Congratulations on setting up your first blog! If you are looking for topics, just share something you have done this week and then reflect.

    Happy blogging,

    Tatyana

  2. Hi Tatyana,

Thanks for your words of advice! I think doing what you suggested is the best way to engage with this blog. Simply reflecting on something I read or did in the week is a great start and will have me typing my heart out!

  3. By the end of the course, you'll have found your blogging voice and know if you are a blogger at heart. Not everyone is, and not everyone needs to be. And not everyone who is has time to devote to it (ahem, looking at myself). I hope you enjoy the journey.

  4. Congrats on your first blog! I had to have one for a writing class and I actually enjoyed it! I dug it out of Weebly and read some of the things I wrote years ago. Can't believe how my writing and how much I have changed in the past 5 years😊
