Week 5 - Wrapping Up and What A Rush

Well, I shouldn't be surprised that I'm living in crunch time again! Another big paper, another night burning the midnight oil (well, 11:59 PM oil). This week has been busy, with work demands, homework, and an assignment all due, and a good selection of life's weirdness thrown my way. Despite the extra weirdness I managed to have a good week in EME6414. I read about some interesting developments regarding EU copyright law and wrote about them here (What Are Memes Worth Anyway?) and considered the role of memes in learning and instructing over on Reddit. Intellectual property will likely be a monumental issue for years to come as we settle ourselves into an online society.

What I like about summer semester is that the weeks seem to fly on by. We're already halfway through the semester and I'm feeling a definite groove. I really enjoy the way I'm learning in this class, and appreciate being able to reach my classmates wherever I find them – on blogs, reddit, discussion boards, Facebook, etc., etc.

Looking forward to next week, I'm excited to read and explore more about our connectedness and how I can apply these concepts to my work at FCIM. It's so satisfying for me to read something and make a connection to something tangible that I've experienced at work or even in my non-work.

Until next week! 😎

  1. I’ve been thinking about this class this week and how cool it is that by week 5/6 you all are curating and creating so much of the class content. It’s pretty amazing to watch you all interact across platforms.
