Week 9 - Admiring My Classmates and Appreciating the Process

As I check out the knowledge sharing assignments and leave comments for my classmates, I can't help but be impressed with the knowledge we are sharing with each other. Not only are the projects really well-done, I'm learning way more about resource tracking than I thought I would be. Exploring everyone's trajectories through this project is very interesting and confirms for me that there was no "one right way" to go about this assignment.

I really enjoyed the projects about food, naturally. Tatyana's project about her mom's Russian/Ukrainian cooking got my mouth watering! It goes to show that academic work doesn't have to be stuffy and impenetrable. Over the last few semesters, I've submitted successful assignments based on: pizza, playing guitar, Universal Studios theme parks, and other fun stuff. This is why I love our program-it's about learning to learn, and not about memorizing and regurgitating information on exams and essays.

Great job everyone! Let's give ourselves big pats on the back. 👏

  1. Thanks for your post. I agree. This is exactly why I love instructional design. I am a bit of an information junkie and I love exploring so many different areas. Great post!

    1. Thanks for the reply! I'm glad others feel the same way about absorbing information, like a sponge haha.

  2. I too am admiring the knowledge sharing projects. We have a lot of talented people in this class! And you're correct, with ID, there is no one right way to go about this, which is why I like working with others on these projects. This is not a case of "too many cooks spoiling the broth" as everyone has a different perspective and brings value to the equation.
